This fall, the LVUSD Board of Education election will help shape the future of our schools for years to come. Decisions about technology in the classroom, academic priorities, district spending, student well-being, and educational policy all begin with the School Board.
This year, three seats are on the ballot. Incumbents Angela Cutbill and Dallas Lawrence are seeking re-election, while opponents Coral Edwardsen and Sandra Pope are also running for the Board. Schools Beyond Screens Las Virgenes developed a candidate questionnaire to help voters better understand where each candidate stands on technology in our schools.
Measure LV
In addition to the School Board election, voters will also decide Measure LV, the LVUSD parcel tax. State funding alone does not provide enough revenue to maintain the level of educational excellence our community expects from Las Virgenes schools. Measure LV is a local parcel tax that helps preserve high-quality educational opportunities for all LVUSD students. Measure LV renews the existing annual parcel tax of $98 per parcel. Originally approved by local voters in 2004 and overwhelmingly renewed in 2015 for a 12-year term, the measure is now up for renewal again. The tax amount would remain $98 per parcel, with no increase.

Reading, arts, theater, and music
Attracting and retaining outstanding teachers, counselors, and staff
Up-to-date textbooks and instructional materials
Athletic programs
Smaller class sizes
