About Us
Schools Beyond Screens Natick is a grassroots volunteer organization made up of parents, educators, and community members.
We work collaboratively with Natick's exemplary administration and school committee.
We are one of more than 200 Schools Beyond Screens chapters nationwide. A major shift is underway, fueled by a recognition that EdTech companies, by pursuing profit motives, have driven school districts to adopt educational technology that does not deliver on promises made.
What We Want
We are calling for Natick Public School District to review existing tech products and policies, block harmful and non-educational distractions, require independent standards for efficacy, create real opt-out pathways, and involve parents, teachers, and students in setting the rules. We support technology that is intentional, limited, transparent, and genuinely useful—not technology adopted by default.
What We Believe
Children should come first in their own education, ahead of corporate interests and market trends.
Technology should facilitate learning, not inhibit it.
Technology should support teachers, not sideline them.
Technology should serve schools, not extract from them.
